Full Marks for Fairtrade in Hereford
Whitecross High School in Hereford has, for many years, been a great supporter of the Fairtrade philosophy.
The Fairtrade Foundation is an independent body that awards the FAIRTRADE Mark to products that meet international Fairtrade standards. The FAIRTRADE Mark guarantees a fair deal for the farmers growing the agricultural commodities used in Fairtrade products. It brings social and environmental benefits to small-scale cotton farmers in the developing world.
Whitecross is one of the first schools in the country to make Fairtrade badged uniform available for its pupils, working closely with local suppliers, The School Uniform Shop in the Maylord Shopping Centre, Hereford.
“We are all delighted with our working relationship on the Fairtrade project with Luke Conod and his team at the School Uniform Shop” said Denise Strutt, Head Teacher at Whitecross High School. “It’s a great pleasure to help to make it a better world for our growing children, all over the world.”
The School Uniform Shop has quickly become one of the county’s biggest and busiest school uniform stockists. So much so that they were forced to expand their new premises in Brewers Passage in the Maylord Shopping Centre, just 7 months after opening.
The newly extended shop has been carefully designed and fitted out in a contemporary and comfortable style that’s easy-to-shop for both kids and parents alike.
As an approved Trutex stockist you’ll find everything a pupil needs for school – blazers, trousers, skirts, shirts, blouses, sports kit, T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, official badges, ties and more.
Selling reputable brand names like Trutex, The School Uniform Shop is able to offer a full money-back guarantee if anything doesn’t live up to expectations. They are also the only school uniform retailer in the UK to sell 100% Fairtrade and ethically sourced school uniform.
Although The School Uniform Shop specialises in providing the complete school uniform and sports kit package for the majority of schools in the county they also keep large stocks of standard blazers, trousers, shirts, socks and skirts for all schools in a huge range of sizes.
For schools outside the area the School Uniform Shop also offers a “School Uniform Direct” service, at www.schooluniformshop.co.uk, as well as 5 other outlets across the country including a department within Labels Outlet Shopping at Ross-on-Wye for schools in and around the Ross area.
For great quality school uniform and school sports kit, it’s full marks for The School Uniform Shop, Hereford.
