School Uniform Shop team up with Hereford Rotary to help refugees in Calais and Dunkirk
Dozens of bags and boxes fill of donated sleeping bags, clothes and sanitary products are being taken from Hereford to the people living in refugee camps in Dunkirk and Calais.
Former army medic Dan Johnson, and Chris Bailey who served in the RAF are both members of the Herefordshire Veterans Support Group who have been working with the students from the Hereford Academy and local people to collect the donations. Today the Hereford Rotary Club added another van, donations of stock from the School Uniform Shop and the cost of the petrol and tolls to get to France to double the amount of clothing and equipment reaching the refugee camps.
Luke Conod of School Uniform Shop said “It was a huge honour to be able to help these guys in a very small way and I would like to wish them every success over the next few days. What they are doing will change lives and also allow these poor kids to know that the people of Hereford care about all the citizens of the world!”
