Ethical Accreditation Award
In May 2019, again in May 2020, May 2021 and May 2022, and for a fifth time in May 2023, The School Uniform Shop received The Good Shopping Guide Ethical Accreditation Award, which illustrates the company’s independently verified ethical status.
“We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded the Ethical Company Award from The Good Shopping Guide for the fifth year in a row.” commented Luke Conod, Managing Director of the School Uniform Shop. “This is testimony to the hard work and commitment of all my colleagues in ensuring that we only supply School Uniform from manufacturers that have the same values as us.”
“We know that value for money is important for those needing school uniforms, but it is the real cost which concerns us.”
“We do not believe that children overseas – who do not get the opportunity to go to school – should be making cheap uniform for children in the UK. This is why we are committed to ensuring all the uniform they sell is ethically sourced – meaning no child labour, safe working conditions, fair wages and factories that are rigorously and regularly checked. We have a lot more information on our website Values and Ethics pages.”
“This way we can have a positive impact on customers, colleagues, supply chain and surrounding community, whilst building a sustainable business.”
This award shows acknowledgment to our ethical standards as an independent company. The Ethical Company Organisation run the UK’s only cross-spectrum Ethical Accreditation, which takes into account, Human Rights, Animal Welfare and the Environment.
Only the highest ethically ranked 33% of any particular product sector are eligible for ethical accreditation. The Ethical Award and Ethical Company logos are a guarantee of a company’s good ethical standards. A company displaying either of these logos has been through an in-depth research audit in order to attain Ethical Accreditation, which enables them to use the logos as independent verification of their good ethical standing.
To be awarded Ethical Accreditation, and be included in The Good Shopping Guide, are great achievements. Achieving this for two years running shows that our continued work with suppliers to provide School Uniform that cares for Humans, Animals and the Environment, as well as our ongoing fundraising and support to UK and international charity projects, aren’t going unnoticed.
We would like to thank all of our customers for your continued support.
