Radio staff have got a lot of bottle for appeal

  • 10th October 2011
  • Staff at a Herefordshire radio station are raising a glass this autumn in a bid to raise money for two worthy causes.

Sunshine Radio is encouraging members of the public to give generously and at various locations in the county as part of its Jingle Jars appeal.

Staff want to raise £5,000 to support the Mayor of Hereford July Woodward’s chosen charities, Help for Heros and the Mcamillan Renton Unit.

Hayley Duce, head of promotions and events at Sunshine said: “The local business and retail sector are being extremely supportive in supporting our Jingle Jars as official collection and deposit points. All our activity on air will focus on driving our audience to these businesses, which not only raises money for the charities but also helps footfall through the doors of businesses across Herefordshire.

Collections points have already been established at FIT, TGS Bowling and Saxty’s in Hereford and Sainsbury’s in Ross-on-Wye.

The amount raised by the people of Herefordshire will be announced live at Hereford City’s Christmas light celebrations on November 20th.

For more information or to help collect, email hayley.duce@sunshineradio.co.uk or call Hayley at Sunshine Radio on 01432 360246.
